Dr. Kankana Seal is an Indian researcher, entrepreneur, and founder of a start-up company named “K DValley Pvt. Ltd.”, West Bengal, India. Her start-up company offers innovative, sustainable, and cement-free geopolymer materials for construction applications.

Her research area is broadly focused on material science, photocatalysts, geopolymer materials, water geochemistry, wastewater treatment, greenhouse gas, waste management, and resource management. Prior to the entrepreneurship, she had worked as a “Senior Researcher” Scientist at the “Institute of Environmental and Agricultural Biology (X-BIO), University of Tyumen, Tyumen, Russia”, which is known to be one of the renowned research centres in the Siberian region in the field of measurement of greenhouse gasses from all types of ecosystems (wetlands, marsh, bog, fen, swamp, peatland etc.) and its treatment using nanomaterials. She has broadened her skills to find the effect of water geochemistry and the emission of greenhouse gases on climate change. She also worked as an “Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow” at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, India, in the field of greenhouse gas emission from mining areas and its storage techniques using nano adsorbents.
She completed her Ph.D in interdisciplinary research on Environmental Chemical Engineering and the use of condensed matter physics (as an eco-friendly environmental protection solution) from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, India, in 2022. In her PhD thesis, she adopted multidisciplinary research topics on water geochemistry, water quality, water pollution abatements using material physics, and the effect of water quality on human-ecological health.
Mrs. Chandralekha Chaudhuri is a social worker and is highly interested in the creation of employment for local people in the rural sector through small-scale industries. She has long-term experience as a successful woman in the retail and wholesale of pharmaceutical products, a construction contractor, and a supplier of building materials.

She is highly focused on manufacturing high-performance, eco-friendly, long-lasting, climate-resilient, and cost-effective geopolymer materials and ceramic products.
